Privacy-first analytics is not about collecting as much data as possible and deciding later whether it is justified. It starts with a more useful question: what decision will this event or property support?
If a field does not improve a product, marketing, security, or operational decision, it may not need to be collected at all. If it does matter, the team should be able to explain its purpose, retention expectation, access model, and destination policy.
Smaller payloads are easier to trust
This approach makes implementation clearer as well as safer. Smaller, purposeful payloads are easier to validate, easier to govern, and easier to explain to customers.
Privacy should appear in the product as understandable choices and controls, not only as a policy statement. Customers need to see what data is being collected, why it is collected, and where it can go.
